BACKGROUND
PUSPANITA or its acronym Association of Wives and Women Civil Servants of Malaysia was officially launched on 1 March 1983 by the first Patron of PUSPANITA, Tun Dr. Siti Hasmah binti Haji Mohd Ali. In the early stages of its establishment, PUSPANITA went through various processes to complete it as a registered association and accepted by all parties, especially at the top management level and its members. The members of the Protem Committee at that time had worked hard to form a constitution that contained details about the organization such as vision, mission, purpose of establishment, membership and responsibilities of the Supreme Council (MT) and the Supreme Working Committee (JKT). To strengthen the position of the organization, the PUSPANITA Constitution has stipulated that the Prime Minister’s wife will be the Patron, the Chief Secretary to the Government will be the Advisor and the wife of the Chief Secretary to the Government will be the President of this association. In addition to the formation of the constitution, PUSPANITA has successfully increased its membership from year to year and now has more than 80,000 members. Another very proud success is the PUSPANITA House in Jalan Hose, Kuala Lumpur and PUSPANITAPURI as a center of activity and a landmark of glory. PUSPANITA also has its own uniform as a symbol of unity of members. Various programs and activities have been compiled and implemented by PUSPANITA to achieve its vision and mission. In line with that, PUSPANITA IB or its acronym Association of Wives and Women Members of the Malaysian Public Service Istana Budaya was established in 2010 after Istana Budaya was officially recognized as a Department under the Ministry of Information Communication & Culture. The association consists of wives and women members of the Civil Service at all levels of the Department. Now, after the change of Ministry, Puspanita Istana Budaya has officially merged with Puspanita Ministry of Tourism and Culture in 2013. PUSPANITA IB has achieved a total of 80 lifetime membership consisting of staff and wives of Istana Budaya staff.
