Istana Budaya is a national stage that has two stages for staging, namely Panggung Sari and Lambang Sari. Panggung Sari is the main stage that can accommodate 1413 spectators while Lambang Sari is a “black box” that can accommodate 281 spectators and is suitable for small -scale staging.

Istana Budaya was officially opened in 1994 by the Prime Minister of Malaysia, YAB Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamed
Istana Budaya covers an area of 5.44 hectares with a floor space of 21,000 square meters.
Public can get online ticket (based on the ticket agent company of each performance program) or at the Box Office counter, Istana Budaya at the following schedule:
Monday – Friday: *11:00 am – 12:30 pm, 2:30 pm – 5:00 pm
Saturday / Sunday / Public Holidays: *11:00 am – 12:30 pm, 2:30 pm – 8:00 pm (if there is a performance on the day)
*Business Hours are subject to the ticket sales transaction time set by the ticket agent company and changes without notice. Public can obtain the transaction date and time of each presentation program on the website of the relevant ticket agent company for confirmation
The ticket price is determined by the organizing company for each performance and the estimated ticket price is between RM20 – RM1,500 depending on the type of performance.
Istana Budaya is equipped with facilities for those in wheelchairs, including access to the foyer, low -button lift and disabled toilets.
For Orchestra and Choir performances, you will need to wear a ‘lounge suit’, Batik shirt or long sleeve shirt. For theater and dance performances, you need to wear neat casual clothes. Shabby jeans, round neck t-shirts, overly exposed clothing, shorts, sportswear, sports shoes and slippers are not allowed.
There are plenty of free parking spaces around the Istana Budaya building.
